Nigerian singer and rapper Anthony Victor, popularly known as Victony, has given fans a first listen to his upcoming single, FYNE, which samples Orezi’s 2013 Afrobeats hit, You Garrit.
The preview was shared on the artiste’s verified X account on Wednesday, offering a glimpse of a track that combines the nostalgic sound of the original with Victony’s distinctive melodic style.
The teaser has generated excitement among fans, many of whom praised the choice of sample and expressed eagerness for the song’s official release.
FYNE is expected to feature on Victony’s forthcoming project, Star Life, and follows the release of his recent singles, FRE$H and SLICK.
The singer has continued to build his reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats acts since breaking into the mainstream with Soweto, the 2022 hit that gained international acclaim and inspired multiple remixes featuring other artistes.
Victony released his debut studio album, Stubborn, in 2024, with guest appearances from Asake, Shallipopi and SAINt JHN. He later followed it with the eight-track EP Very Stubborn, which included collaborations with Terry G on Tanko and Olamide on Skido.
With FYNE, the singer appears set to blend Afrobeats nostalgia with his contemporary sound as fans await the arrival of Star Life.
