Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Tram has dismissed claims that he owes ₦400 million in damages following a viral car crash in 2024, offering a new account of the incident after his introduction to the reality show.
The clarification surfaced in an interview clip that gained traction online on Monday, a day after Tram was unveiled as one of the contestants in the new BBNaija season.
Shortly after his debut on the show, videos of the 2024 crash involving a 2022 Corvette Stingray and a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee resurfaced on social media, reigniting public interest in the incident.
Addressing speculation about the reported debt, Tram denied the claim outright.
“First off, no, I do not owe ₦400 million. Obviously, I would probably not be this chill if I was owing ₦400 million,” he said.
The reality TV star acknowledged being involved in the accident but stressed that it was an unforeseen event.
According to him, the crash was not intentional, adding that he remains grateful no lives were lost despite the severity of the collision.
Tram also expressed frustration that discussions surrounding the incident have largely focused on the damaged vehicles rather than the fact that everyone involved survived.
In a significant departure from his earlier public statements, he said the vehicles involved were not rented. Instead, he claimed one of the cars belonged to a friend who was also injured in the crash.
“The car actually belongs to a friend of mine, and he was also involved in the accident,” he said, adding that there are aspects of the case he is unable to discuss publicly.
Reflecting on the experience, Tram described the crash as a defining moment in his life, saying it strengthened his faith.
The accident occurred on September 14, 2024, when the Corvette Tram was driving reportedly lost control during a race, collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee and crashed into a concrete pole. Although no fatalities were recorded, Tram sustained injuries including head and jaw trauma, back pain and facial bruises. He was later hospitalized and spoke publicly about suffering flashbacks and sleepless nights during his recovery.
In the aftermath of the accident, Tram appealed for financial support on Instagram, stating that damages—including vehicle write-offs, medical expenses and property damage—exceeded ₦400 million. At the time, he described the vehicles as rented.
His latest remarks have now sparked fresh debate online, with some social media users questioning the inconsistencies between his current explanation and the account he gave following the crash.
Tram’s comments come as he settles into the BBNaija Season 11 house, where his past has become one of the early talking points among viewers.
