The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), has announced plans to conduct an inter-company obstacle crossing competition for its Short Service Cadets on Saturday at the NDA Afaka facility.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Reuben Kovangiya, said the exercise will run from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. as part of the Academy’s routine military training.
According to him, the day-and-night exercise is designed to test the cadets’ ability to negotiate obstacles in simulated combat situations.
He said the exercise will be confined to the NDA Afaka area and advised residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka not to be alarmed by the military activity.
Major Kovangiya also assured the public that adequate safety measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and incident-free exercise, while urging residents and the media to help disseminate the information.
