The government says at least 355 people were arrested in connection with Thursday’s demonstrations held to commemorate victims of the 2024 Finance Bill protests.
According to Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Nairobi recorded the highest number of arrests at 161, followed by Kajiado with 123.
Murkomen said security agencies acted on intelligence reports indicating that some individuals were being ferried from different parts of the country with the intention of disrupting the demonstrations.
