Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has sparked conversation after sharing her perspective on parenthood during a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on the ‘Thanks For Coming’ podcast, Isime was asked how many children she hopes to have. Rather than giving a direct answer, she reflected on the challenges people face in everyday life and whether bringing children into the world is always an act of love.
According to the actress, genuinely caring for children could lead some people to question whether they should have them at all, given the difficulties that come with life.
“You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn’t want to bring them into the world,” she said during the discussion.
Isime pointed to the pressures, uncertainties, and hardships many people experience, suggesting that these realities should be considered when discussing parenthood.
During the conversation, she asked whether people who face struggles and difficult moments ever reflect on the challenges of being alive and navigating life’s demands.
The actress also questioned whether having children is always rooted solely in love, arguing that life inevitably comes with its share of suffering and obstacles.
Despite her remarks, Isime made it clear that she has not completely ruled out the possibility of becoming a parent in the future. She acknowledged that hardship is a universal part of the human experience and said any children she might have would face their own challenges as well.
“No. Everybody has to suffer. They’ll come and suffer their own. They’re not gonna escape it,” she said.
Her comments have since generated discussion online, with many weighing in on the realities of parenthood, personal choice, and the responsibilities that come with raising children in an increasingly complex world.
