Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has graduated with First Class Honours in Law, describing the achievement as a reflection of academic excellence while stressing that it does not automatically translate to professional success in legal practice.
The actor shared the update on Instagram following the completion of his LLB programme at a university in Ghana, noting that the distinction represents discipline, hard work, and strong intellectual ability.
According to him, earning a First Class degree demonstrates key qualities such as analytical thinking, dedication, and academic mastery, which can open doors to opportunities and recognition.
However, he cautioned that success in the legal profession requires more than classroom performance.
Vicker explained that becoming an effective lawyer depends heavily on practical experience, advocacy skills, emotional intelligence, integrity, mentorship, and continuous learning.
He described his academic achievement as a strong foundation rather than a final measure of professional competence.
“A First Class Honours in LLB doesn’t automatically make me a better lawyer,” he wrote, adding that it reflects academic excellence, discipline, and critical thinking skills.
He further stated that true professional growth in law is shaped by practice, character development, and real-world exposure in courtrooms and advisory roles.
“First Class Honours is proof of academic mastery, not professional mastery. It’s a strong foundation, but becoming a great lawyer requires practice, mentorship, and character,” he added.
Vicker’s achievement has drawn attention on social media, where fans and colleagues have congratulated him for expanding his academic and professional horizons beyond the film industry.
