A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State is urging President Bola Tinubu to recognise and reward party faithful who worked for the party’s success in the 2023 elections.
In a Democracy Day statement, the Oyo State chapter of the APC Justice Forum said democracy is strengthened when the sacrifices and contributions of grassroots political actors are acknowledged and rewarded.
The forum noted that many APC members in the state played crucial roles in mobilising support for the party at ward and community levels during the elections. It urged the President to ensure that such loyalty is reflected in political appointments, empowerment programmes and other federal government opportunities.
According to the group, grassroots mobilisers remain the backbone of the party’s electoral success and should not be overlooked in governance decisions. The forum maintained that recognising loyal party members would strengthen the APC ahead of future elections, including the 2027 polls.
It added that rewarding loyalty is not patronage but a necessary step towards sustaining party unity and commitment at the grassroots. The group also congratulated Nigerians on Democracy Day and reaffirmed its support for the APC-led administration.
