Comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun has paid an emotional tribute to late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo following his service of songs held on Wednesday night.
In a post shared on Instagram, AY described the ceremony as a deeply moving gathering filled with love, reflection, and emotional tributes from friends, family, and colleagues.
He noted that the large turnout at the event reflected the impact Ekubo made during his lifetime and the many lives he touched across the entertainment industry.
According to him, the gathering served as a painful reminder of life’s uncertainty and the importance of valuing relationships while people are still alive.
“Last night was a powerful reminder that no one is promised tomorrow,” he wrote, adding that the atmosphere was filled with heartfelt tributes and shared memories.
AY said one key message that stood out from the tributes was the need to let go of bitterness and unresolved conflicts, stressing that life is too short for grudges.
“Listening to the messages shared, one lesson stood out clearly: life is too short for grudges, bitterness and unresolved differences. We must learn to love more, forgive more and cherish the people around us while we still can,” he added.
He further noted that although saying goodbye was difficult, the outpouring of love for the late actor brought some comfort to those in attendance.
AY also revealed that family and close friends are expected to gather in Arochukwu in the coming days for Ekubo’s final burial rites.
“Rest well, Alex. Your memories, your laughter and your legacy will remain with us forever,” he concluded.
