British police have arrested three individuals in connection with the death of British-Nigerian musician Mark Orabiyi, following a fatal stabbing incident that has triggered an ongoing murder investigation in London.
The 35-year-old reportedly suffered multiple stab wounds during an attack at a residential property on Rayleigh Road on Friday. Emergency services responded after distress calls were made, but he was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts to save his life.
The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that officers arrived at the location alongside paramedics and found the victim critically injured in the garden of the property.
Although formal identification procedures are still underway, authorities have confirmed the deceased as Orabiyi. Specialist officers have also been deployed to support his family as they come to terms with the loss.
In a tribute released through the police, family members described him as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, saying his kindness and musical talent had touched many lives.
Police said three suspects, two men and one woman, were arrested shortly after the incident. One of the suspects, a 27-year-old man, has since been released on bail pending further investigation, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released without further action.
Authorities also confirmed that a second victim, a 20-year-old man, sustained multiple stab wounds during the attack and was taken to hospital. His injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation, described the incident as deeply tragic and urged members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist the inquiry.
She appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or mobile footage from the area at the time of the attack to contact investigators.
Police say inquiries remain ongoing as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing and identify those responsible.
