Nigerian singer Rema has opened up about the end of his past relationship, describing it as both beautiful and emotionally demanding.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the Afrobeats star said the relationship came with significant pressure, which eventually contributed to its collapse.
Rema explained that while his personal life had its good moments, it was also marked by emotional tension. He noted that returning home—where he expected peace after dealing with the pressures of fame—often became another source of stress.
According to him, the situation became difficult to manage, as the relationship sometimes felt overwhelming rather than supportive.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but a little quite manipulative… when you come back home and you are getting more pressure, it’s a different story,” he said.
The singer added that he ultimately decided to walk away when he could no longer cope with the situation.
