Speaking during an interview on The Beat FM, the businessman said his political allegiance is firm and not influenced by personal setbacks in the party’s primaries.
He maintained that his backing for both the APC and the president is unwavering, adding that he continues to believe in the party’s direction and performance.
According to him, governance outcomes in Imo State have strengthened his confidence in the party, particularly pointing to what he described as increased financial capacity for state projects.
He suggested that some state governments are now better positioned to execute development plans without resorting to borrowing, attributing this to revenue made available following fuel subsidy removal.
“My support for the party is undiluted, and my support for the president is something that is unshakable,” he said.
“I had to take a proper look at the achievements of APC in my own state. I come from Imo state. I see the contribution of what the president has done. A lot of governors now are able to do a lot of things in their states without borrowing money,” he added.
Earlier this month, Cubana Chief Priest revealed that he voluntarily stepped down from the APC primary election after consultations with party leaders. He explained that zoning arrangements did not favour his local government area, prompting his withdrawal from the race.
Despite the setback, he insists his political loyalty remains intact as discussions continue around his future within the party.
