Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, and members of his cabinet have presented their administration’s three-year scorecard, highlighting achievements in health, education and infrastructure.
The presentation took place during a special anniversary Executive Council meeting involving Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state government.
Governor Otti described the period as a major milestone, thanking members of his cabinet for aligning with his administration’s vision while urging them to improve in areas where expectations have not been fully met. According to him, the government’s achievements span healthcare, education, road infrastructure, technology, power and public utilities.
The Commissioner for Health, Enoch Ogbonnaya-Uche, highlighted ongoing upgrades at major medical facilities, including the Abia State University Teaching Hospital and specialist hospitals, alongside the reconstruction of general hospitals and rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres.
In the education sector, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Emeh Uche, said the administration inherited struggling institutions but has focused on infrastructure renewal and reforms, with enrollment at Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic rising significantly.
On infrastructure, Commissioner for Works, Otumchere Oti, listed projects such as Port Harcourt Road in Aba, Omenuko Bridge and the six-lane Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard.
He added that a total of 414 roads have been completed through the Ministry of Works and state development agencies, improving access and connectivity across Abia State.
