Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked conversations online after sharing his views on infidelity and relationships during a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Edochie argued that cheating affects relationships differently for men and women, claiming that women often become emotionally detached before engaging in infidelity.
According to the actor, many men remain in relationships with partners who are no longer emotionally invested in them, making genuine commitment difficult to achieve.
“If you meet a woman who loves you, she will be willing to do anything for you,” Edochie said. “But the problem is that a lot of men are with women who don’t love them and are wasting their time.”
He suggested that some women involved in affairs are emotionally connected to another partner rather than their spouse or current relationship.
Referencing a recent controversy involving an alleged affair between a married woman and another man, Edochie claimed the situation reflected how some women emotionally leave relationships before cheating becomes public.
“I tell you, once a woman begins to cheat, she has checked out emotionally and psychologically,” he stated.
The actor also said men should not forgive infidelity, arguing that doing so shows weakness. He encouraged men to establish clear boundaries in relationships and avoid becoming overly submissive to their partners.
“There is nothing like forgiveness when it comes to cheating. If you do, you are a weak man,” he said.
Edochie further maintained that women tend to love deeply when genuinely committed and advised men to seek partners who truly care for them.
His comments have since generated reactions on social media, with many users debating his views on loyalty, emotional commitment, and gender dynamics in relationships.
