Managed by Unai Emery, Villa became the latest club to lift the trophy since the competition’s inception.
Sevilla FC remain the most successful side in Europa League history with seven titles.
Inter Milan, Liverpool FC, Juventus FC, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have each won the competition three times.
Other multiple winners include Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, FC Porto and Eintracht Frankfurt with two titles apiece.
