Arne Slot has explained why he believes Arsenal are on course to win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Friday, the Liverpool boss pointed to Arsenal’s defensive organisation as a key factor.
Arsenal currently lead Manchester City by two points with two games left in the season. Slot said the Gunners’ ability to defend effectively in deep positions makes them strong contenders to lift the trophy.
“The team that is going to win the league, at least I assume, I think Arsenal is going to win the league,” Slot said.
“Arsenal is a team that has large spells in a game where they have to defend in a low block, and they do that really well. By the way, that’s also one of the reasons why they will go on to win the league.”
