Former Big Brother Naija winner Whitemoney has appealed to aspiring contestants of the show to stop asking him to influence their selection into the reality programme.
In a video message shared online, the reality television star said his direct messages had been flooded with requests from people hoping he could secure them a spot in the upcoming edition of the show.
Whitemoney clarified that he has no authority over the selection process and urged interested participants to follow the official audition procedures instead of looking for shortcuts.
“My DM is filled up with messages from people asking me to influence their entries into BBNaija. Please, I do not have the power to put you into Big Brother house,” he said.
The Shine Ya Eye winner noted that the volume of such requests has increased significantly ahead of the eleventh season of the reality show.
According to him, many young Nigerians view the programme as a path to fame and financial opportunities, especially amid the current economic situation.
Whitemoney encouraged hopeful contestants to remain persistent during auditions, revealing that he auditioned four times before finally making it into the house.
He also warned aspiring housemates against falling victim to fraudsters who promise guaranteed slots in exchange for money.
“Go and audition. Follow the due process,” he advised, adding that people should be careful not to lose money to scammers claiming they can influence the selection process.
Whitemoney rose to prominence after winning the sixth season of Big Brother Naija, where he became popular for his personality and culinary skills inside the house.
