Immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will unseat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Adelabu, who is an aspirant on the APC platform, made the declaration in a statement issued on Saturday, outlining his political intentions ahead of the next electoral cycle.
He said his decision to contest again is driven by what he described as a commitment to building a better Oyo State and restoring what he called progressive governance in the state.
The former minister also announced plans to formally declare his governorship ambition on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, describing the event as the start of a renewed political journey.
According to him, the APC is positioned to reclaim power in 2027 through unity, party loyalty and support from residents across the state.
Adelabu, who served as the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election, lost to incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde, who is expected to complete his second term in office in 2027.
