Streamer and entertainer Carter Efe has publicly called out event organisers over the alleged delay in paying his ₦50 million prize money following his victory in a celebrity boxing match against singer Portable (Nigerian singer).
The widely publicised fight, held on Friday, ended with Carter Efe declared winner. However, the result has since been surrounded by controversy, with Portable disputing the outcome and alleging that the judges’ decision may have been influenced.
Portable also claimed that the organisers manipulated the result to avoid paying out what he described as massive fan wagers, alleging that bets worth about ₦23 billion were placed in support of his victory.
Days after the event, Carter Efe expressed frustration during a livestream, insisting he has yet to receive his prize money despite what he described as the physical risk involved in the bout.
He directly appealed to the organisers to fulfill the payment without further delay.
“Dem never give me my money oo. I never see N50 million ooo. I nearly die for that fight, I never see the N50 million. Make dem pay me N50 oo,” he said.
The situation has continued to generate reactions online, with fans debating both the fight outcome and the alleged delay in payment.
The celebrity boxing event, which drew significant attention on social media, is part of a growing trend of influencer and entertainment-driven combat sports in Nigeria, but it now faces scrutiny over transparency and prize fulfillment.
