Baze University has appointed Professor Abiodun Adeniyi as its new Vice-Chancellor and Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi as Registrar, with both appointments taking effect from May 6, 2026.
The appointments were approved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, following what the university described as a ârigorous and competitive selection process.â
Prof. Adeniyi, a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, takes over as Vice-Chancellor after serving as the universityâs Registrar. He is succeeded by Alhaji Lawi, who previously served as Director of Human Resources.
The university said both officials have spent more than a decade at Baze University and have shown âinstitutional loyalty, professionalism, and administrative commitment.â
The Board of Trustees said it is confident the new leadership team will advance the universityâs mission, strengthen its academic standing and improve administrative excellence.
According to the board, the appointments reflect Baze Universityâs commitment to continuity, merit-based leadership and sustained institutional growth.
Members of the university community also congratulated the new appointees and called on staff and stakeholders to support them in their new positions.
