President Bola Tinubu has said he is determined to complete his tenure and seek re-election, despite ongoing insecurity concerns in the country.
Tinubu made the remarks on Wednesday while receiving Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State and other stakeholders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said attempts to link the country’s security challenges to his administration were politically motivated and designed to weaken his government.
“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me”, he said.
The President maintained that he remained focused on governance and would not be distracted by political manoeuvring or attempts to exploit national security challenges.
He also reaffirmed his intention to run for a second term in office, insisting that his administration was committed to delivering reforms and addressing the country’s security and economic challenges.
Tinubu stressed that ongoing insecurity would not deter him from completing his mandate, adding that efforts were already underway to strengthen security operations and improve coordination among relevant agencies.
He further urged stakeholders from Plateau State to continue working with the Federal Government in finding lasting solutions to the recurring violence in the region, noting that sustained collaboration was key to restoring peace.
