A Nairobi court has granted detectives ten more days to hold the woman at the centre of a viral hate speech investigation. Bare Sahara Ahmed was presented before the Chief Magistrate’s Court at Kahawa Law Courts on Monday, where the Directorate of Criminal Investigations sought more time to complete inquiries into remarks made in a widely shared online video.
The DCI says the case involves allegations of hate speech and ethnic incitement, offences it says threaten national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
