Actor and human rights advocate Yomi Fabiyi has urged authorities to delay the burial of actress Temitope Osoba until the circumstances surrounding her death are properly investigated.
Fabiyi made the appeal on Monday in a statement issued on behalf of the Break ‘The Silence Foundation, a human rights organisation.
Osoba’s death was announced on August 5, 2026, prompting an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and others within the entertainment industry.
However, questions and allegations concerning the circumstances of her death have since emerged.
Against that backdrop, the foundation called for an autopsy and appropriate forensic examinations, arguing that such procedures could be crucial should a formal investigation into her death be undertaken.
The organisation also expressed concern that burying Osoba before relevant investigations are completed could complicate any subsequent forensic or legal process.
Fabiyi, who shared the statement on Instagram, appealed to Osoba’s family and other parties connected to the matter to allow the relevant authorities to establish the facts.
“Please, guys, for the sake of proper accountability, humanity, human rights, and rule of law, if the AUTOPSY is not ongoing, please let it be done,” Fabiyi wrote.
In a separate post, the actor described the allegations surrounding Osoba’s death as disturbing and renewed his call for the burial to be postponed.
“Do not bury Tope Osoba now until full investigation is done and established,” he said.
The foundation acknowledged the emotional weight of delaying a burial, but maintained that its position was driven by concerns over due process, accountability and justice.
Fabiyi also mourned Osoba, describing her as a fighter while expressing sadness over her death.
The calls for an autopsy and investigation are, however, demands for further examination and should not be taken as confirmation that any wrongdoing occurred in connection with the actress’ death.
