Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has announced his withdrawal from the ongoing dispute involving members of the P-Square family.
His decision follows mounting criticism from social media users who accused him of taking Jude Okoye’s side and attempting to shift attention away from allegations raised by Peter Okoye.
The controversy intensified after Peter presented information concerning his dispute with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their elder brother, Jude. Several Nigerian and international celebrities subsequently expressed support for Peter.
Liberian actor Frank Artus also publicly urged VeryDarkMan to stay out of the Okoye family matter.
However, in a video released on Sunday evening, VeryDarkMan revised his earlier position and acknowledged that Jude also bears responsibility for the breakdown.
According to the activist, he would apportion 40 percent of the blame to Jude, 30 percent to Peter and the remaining 30 percent to other people around the family, including wives and relatives.
He explained that his revised assessment followed his consideration of the accounts presented by both Jude and Peter.
VeryDarkMan maintained that his intervention was an expression of his opinion and said criticism from people who disagreed with him was not unexpected.
He subsequently announced that he would no longer involve himself in the P-Square dispute.
The activist said he would instead turn his attention to another matter, revealing that he was preparing to face a police panel over allegations he previously made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Jimoh Moshood.
His latest comments mark a shift from his earlier involvement in the highly publicised dispute, which has continued to generate significant reactions online.
