Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has broken his months-long silence, thanking fans who continued to support him while he stayed away from the public eye.
The skit maker has been largely absent from shows, events and other public engagements in recent months, limiting his interaction with the audience that has followed his career.
In a message shared on his WhatsApp channel on Friday, Shaggi acknowledged the people who continued to check on him despite his prolonged absence.
He said their patience and support had meant a great deal to him, particularly during a period when he was unable to connect with them as he normally would.
Shaggi, however, stopped short of explaining what prompted his withdrawal from public activities.
The comedian said he was not yet ready to disclose the full details, asking fans to understand that he would speak about the situation when the time was right.
He also assured his supporters that his silence should not be interpreted as him forgetting them.
According to Shaggi, he remains hopeful that he will soon be able to return to the public space and reconnect with his audience.
The comedian further promised that his eventual return would come with renewed energy, saying he intends to make up for the time he has spent away.

Shaggi’s disappearance from the spotlight had previously generated concern and speculation among fans, particularly following reports of an alleged shooting incident involving the comedian. Police had earlier said there was no evidence at the time to confirm that Shaggi had been shot anywhere in Ogun State.
For now, the actor has offered no further details about his absence, leaving fans to wait for the explanation he says he will give when he is ready.
