With preparations for the 2027 general elections gathering pace, the All Progressives Congress in Delta State is stepping up efforts to unite its members and strengthen its support base.
At the APC Delta North Stakeholders’ Meeting in Asaba, party leaders stressed the need to reconcile with aggrieved members and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
Addressing the gathering, Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, urged party leaders to reach out to aspirants who lost in the party’s primaries and other members who feel excluded.
“We must work together. Those who contested and did not win should not be abandoned. We must reach out to them and make them understand that there is a place for everybody in the party”, he said.
Onyeme also applauded President Bola Tinubu’s push for state police, describing it as a significant step toward improving security across the country.
Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa also supported the proposal, saying state police would complement the Nigeria Police Force and enable faster responses to security threats within communities.
The stakeholders also endorsed President Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for second terms in office in 2027.
