Nigerian rapper Temidayo Omoniyi, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has disclosed that he gave up smoking four years ago.
The Zanku hitmaker made the revelation during a recent interactive session with fans on Snapchat. When asked by a follower if he still smokes, Zlatan responded that he quit the habit in 2020.
“A day can’t pass without someone asking me this question. Yes, I quit smoking four years ago. And I have no issues with smokers,” he wrote.
Zlatan’s decision aligns with a growing trend among Nigerian artists who have publicly announced lifestyle changes and efforts to quit smoking.
Music producer Don Jazzy, as well as singers Peruzzi, Tekno, and Kizz Daniel, have all spoken about giving up the habit in recent years. Davido also revealed in 2018 that he planned to stop smoking after being inspired by Don Jazzy’s transformation.
Zlatan’s revelation has sparked positive reactions from fans, many praising his discipline and commitment to maintaining a healthier lifestyle while continuing to thrive in the Nigerian music industry.
