Popular Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has explained why he prefers not to invest in emerging music talents, describing it as a risky venture with uncertain returns.
During an appearance on the Adesope Live show, Zlatan stressed that his focus in the music industry is on financial stability and business sense. “I will rather go buy a house than put money into artistes I’m not sure will be successful,” he said.
The rapper added that his primary goal in music is to secure financial independence and personal responsibility. “At the start of my career, I struggled with pressure and anxieties. Making music is about building stability for me,” Zlatan noted.
Despite his cautious approach to investments, Zlatan is open to collaborating with up-and-coming artistes. He explained that he understands the challenges of starting out, having received similar support during his early career.
Zlatan’s comments highlight the balancing act many established musicians face between nurturing new talent and securing their own financial well-being.
