Afrobeats singer Zlatan Ibile has publicly refuted a viral social media post that claimed Davita, the mother of his children, is not his wife.
The unverified post circulated widely online, triggering speculation and debate among fans before the singer addressed the matter directly. Responding on X, formerly Twitter, Zlatan described the claim as false and criticised the spread of unchecked information on social media.
The singer, who is known for keeping his private life largely out of the public eye, said he typically avoids responding to online narratives but felt compelled to clarify the issue due to the scale of the misinformation.
“Y’all know I hate to shalaye,” Zlatan wrote, expressing frustration at what he described as agenda-driven posts. He urged social media users to verify information before sharing, calling the viral claim “fake.”
Zlatan and Davita share two sons and have recently marked several personal milestones together. The singer was present to support Davita during her graduation from Birmingham University, and the couple also celebrated their second son’s first birthday.
The clarification appears to have put an end to the speculation, with fans reacting to the singer’s response and calling for greater responsibility in the sharing of celebrity-related content online.
