Emmy Award-winning actress Zendaya has addressed viral images falsely depicting her wedding to actor Tom Holland, confirming that the widely circulated photos were digitally created.
The images, which began trending on Instagram in mid-February, quickly gained traction online, attracting significant engagement and sparking speculation among fans about a possible secret marriage.
Speaking during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Zendaya clarified that the photos were generated using artificial intelligence and had no connection to reality.
She noted that the images were convincing enough to mislead a large number of people, including individuals within her own circle.
According to the actress, the situation became particularly surprising when people approached her in real life to compliment her on the supposed wedding photos.
Zendaya said she had to repeatedly explain that the images were not authentic, emphasising the growing impact of AI-generated content and how easily it can blur the line between reality and fabrication.
The incident has further fueled conversations around the spread of misinformation online and the increasing sophistication of digital manipulation tools.
