Yusuf Dantalle has been re-elected as the National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) following a smooth and decisive election held at the council’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Dantalle, who is also the National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), returned unopposed after his only challenger stepped down, paving the way for a unanimous vote in his favour.
His re-election grants him another two-year mandate to lead the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Nigeria.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dan Iwanyanwu, announced the results to journalists on Monday, confirming Dantalle’s victory and commending the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
Alongside Dantalle, several other key officers were elected into national leadership positions. Zainab Ibrahim, the Deputy National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged as the Deputy National Chairperson.
Maxwell Mgbudem was selected as the National Secretary, while Maryam Garba became the Deputy National Secretary.
Dipo Olayokun was elected National Treasurer, and Chinyere Kalu emerged as the National Organising Secretary.
Umar Mohammed secured the position of National Financial Secretary, while Wole Martins and Obed Agu were elected as National Publicity Secretary and National Legal Adviser respectively.
