American rapper Yung Miami has accused South African singer Tyla of stealing her song, after the singer teased her upcoming single Chanel on social media.
The hip-hop star claimed that she had shared an unreleased track titled Chanel with Tyla, who she alleges then used the idea for her own song.
“This girl really ran off with my song and I don’t know how to feel about it. Mind you, I played this song for this girl,” Yung Miami said, expressing her disappointment.
She later confirmed to a fan that her statement was directed at Tyla.
The allegation has reignited discussions around intellectual property in music and the relationship dynamics between Afro-American and African artists.
Tyla has not publicly responded to the claims as of now.
