Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has opened up about why he doesn’t post pictures of his children with estranged wife May Edochie, amid criticism on social media for sharing only images of his second wife Judy Austin’s children.
Speaking on the KAA Truth podcast with Kel Armstrong Amobi, Yul clarified that he maintains regular contact with his children and continues to support them financially. He revealed that he had sent money to his second son through his mother’s account just three days ago.
“I’ve heard a lot of things about people saying I abandoned my children. Sometimes I read those things and I laughed. If my children never come to you and complain, it’s funny because I’m in contact with them,” he said.
Yul recounted that his second son, who recently entered university and completed his matriculation, informed him just a day prior. “I said, ‘I’m very busy, why don’t you tell me this ahead of time?’ But I congratulated him. He’s 17—same age I was entering university. I told him, ‘It’s time for you to be a man.’”
He also stressed that his lack of social media posts about his eldest children does not reflect neglect. “There’s a court order regarding my children. It says I shouldn’t post anything about them for their own safety. My second son is 17, my other one is about eight. It’s not that I don’t love them, they are my blood,” he explained.
Yul added that he ensures his support reaches his children responsibly. “I sent him money today, through the mother, so that it keeps a record. No matter what happened, it shouldn’t affect the children.”
The actor’s remarks come as part of an effort to address ongoing online speculation about his relationship with his eldest children while affirming his commitment to their well-being despite public misunderstandings.
