Afrobeats artist Young Jonn has announced the postponement of his upcoming album, “Blue Disco,” originally set for release on November 21, 2025.
The decision comes amid rising insecurity across Nigeria, which the singer described as unbearable and a source of national grief and anxiety.
In a statement shared on X, Young Jonn expressed his disappointment over the current state of the nation and urged both leaders and citizens to take collective action.
“It’s disheartening that Nigeria is still confronted with such overwhelming challenges; the insecurity has become unbearable. It’s very clear that the leaders and we citizens must rise to do better, even as we pray for God’s strength to guide and sustain us through these difficult times,” he wrote.
The postponed album features collaborations with top Afrobeats stars including Wizkid, Rema, Asake, and Olamide, and had been highly anticipated by fans. A new release date for “Blue Disco” has not yet been announced.
Young Jonn concluded his statement with a heartfelt prayer for the nation: “Above all, I’m praying for healing across our nation that God restores peace, unity, and hope to Nigeria.”
The move highlights how rising insecurity in Nigeria continues to impact the entertainment industry, prompting artists to prioritize safety and social responsibility alongside their creative projects.
