Former Barcelona midfielder and ex-manager Xavi Hernandez is reportedly eager to replace Ruben Amorim as Manchester United manager, with the Portuguese coach under growing pressure after a poor start to the 2025/26 Premier League season.
United have managed just two wins in seven matches, sitting 14th on the table after a disappointing defeat to Brentford on Saturday. Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in November 2024, has yet to win back-to-back games since taking charge.
While the club’s board insists Amorim will be given the season to prove himself and has dismissed reports of identifying replacements, speculation over his future continues to grow among supporters.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Xavi has been “studying” the Premier League and would “immediately” accept the United job if offered, adding that the absence of European football would not deter him.
Amorim’s next test is a crucial home clash against Sunderland, where a win could ease mounting tension at Old Trafford.
