Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz, has set a new record as the youngest Nigerian musician to exceed one million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The 14-year-old rapper achieved this milestone shortly after releasing his debut EP, “Champion’s Arrival”, a five-track project that fuses rap, Afrobeats, and afro-swing. The EP has quickly gained traction both in Nigeria and internationally, debuting at No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Albums chart.
The project’s impact extends beyond Africa, charting in 16 countries on Apple Music and reaching No. 71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums chart, highlighting Champz’s growing global appeal.
Fans and industry observers have praised the young artist’s talent, with his father, music icon Wizkid, expressing pride in Champz’s debut work. Champz’s mother, Sola Ogudu, also thanked fans for supporting her son’s musical journey.
