Fourteen-year-old rapper Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz, has shared that his goal as an artist is to inspire both young and older audiences through his music.
In a recent interview with Apple Music Africa Now Radio, the rising talent expressed pride in influencing his peers and people beyond his age group.
“It feels really good. Someone my age doing stuff like this, and being able to inspire my peers, people younger and older than me,” Champz said. He added that he wants to show that determination and perseverance can help anyone achieve their goals.
Champz’s latest extended play, Young Poet, represents what he calls a “declaration of intent,” solidifying his place in the music industry. “This EP is like a statement piece for me. Not everyone can do what I do, and I want everyone to know that,” he said.
He also shared his vision for his music to reach a wide audience, saying, “I pray that everyone who listens can find meaning, dance to it, or even use it while working out. I want people to enjoy my music anytime, anywhere.”
With a growing fan base and a clear sense of purpose, Champz is positioning himself as a young artist ready to make a lasting impact on Afrobeats and global music culture.
