Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has seemingly taken a subtle dig at fellow Nigerian singer Davido after his album Morayo was named Apple Music’s most streamed album of 2025 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The project surpassed Davido’s 5ive, which secured the second spot on the regional chart.
Before releasing his album, Davido had boasted that his project would outshine previous releases, in what fans speculated was a reference to Wizkid. Speaking in Pidgin, he declared:
“Album go swallow album.”
Following Morayo’s success, Wizkid appeared to respond with a pointed tweet:
“Dem say album go swallow album dem dey ground dey smell now!”
Many fans interpreted the post as a direct shade at Davido, reigniting speculation about the longtime friendly rivalry between the two Afrobeats icons.
As of now, Davido has not publicly responded to Wizkid’s message, leaving fans and social media buzzing with reactions.
