Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Wizkid has responded sharply to veteran musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, after the elder ranked Burna Boy above him on the global music stage.
The controversy stems from a recent interview in which 2Baba shared his view on Nigeria’s so-called “Big 3” of Afrobeat: Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. During the discussion, 2Baba named Burna Boy as the number one Nigerian artist internationally.
Reacting on Snapchat, Wizkid dismissed the comment, calling 2Baba an “old man” and suggesting that he focus on reconciling family matters before passing judgment on music rankings.
“I’m never letting it slack in 2026,” Wizkid wrote. “At least make peace with your family first before having opinions about music. Old man.”
This is not the first time Wizkid has publicly asserted his dominance in the Afrobeat scene; he previously declared himself Nigeria’s number one Afrobeat star.
The exchange has reignited debates among fans and industry observers over who truly leads the Nigerian music export market globally.
