Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Davido have emerged as Africa’s most decorated music artists, reinforcing the continent’s rising influence in the global entertainment industry.
According to newly released rankings, Grammy-winning singer Wizkid sits at the top with an impressive 197 career awards, making him the most awarded African artist to date. His accolades span both local and international platforms, reflecting years of commercial success and critical recognition.
Davido follows closely in second place with a total of 150 awards. The singer’s consistent output, global collaborations, and international tours have earned him widespread acclaim and solidified his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie ranks third on the list with 121 awards, highlighting his long-standing dominance in West African hip-hop. Close behind is Nigeria’s Burna Boy, who occupies fourth position with 120 awards. Burna Boy’s tally is expected to grow further, given his recent nominations and wins tied to his expanding global profile.
Ghana’s Shatta Wale takes fifth place with 115 awards, while fellow Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy follows in sixth position, having earned 107 accolades over the course of his career.
Representing East Africa, Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz secured seventh place with 101 awards, underscoring the region’s growing presence in international music conversations.
Veteran Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo, celebrated for her decades-long career and global impact, features among the top artists with over 100 awards. Congolese music sensation Fally Ipupa rounds out the list in ninth place with 96 awards.
