Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Asake are gearing up for one of the most anticipated collaborations of the year with the announcement of their joint EP, REAL (Vol. 1), scheduled for release this December.
The duo offered fans an early taste of what to expect during their appearance on Apple Music 1 with DJ Tunez, where they previewed a snippet of a new track titled “Jogodo.” The clip, though brief, has already sparked excitement across social media.
Speaking about the partnership, Asake described their bond as going deeper than music, calling their relationship “real” and grounded in genuine connection.
This is not their first time teaming up. Asake featured Wizkid on “MMS,” a standout track from his 2024 album “Lungu Boy.” Their upcoming EP, however, marks their first full collaborative project, one that fans have been anticipating since their initial link-up.
REAL (Vol. 1) is expected to merge the pair’s distinct styles: Wizkid’s smooth, melodic Afropop and Asake’s energetic, choir-inspired sound. Industry watchers predict the project will dominate December playlists and further cement the duo’s influence in the global soundscape.
