All eyes will be on Nairobi’s Uhuru Park this Friday as the Wiper Patriotic Front holds its National Delegates Conference (NDC), where members are expected to endorse party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the presidential flag bearer for the 2027 General Election.
United Opposition leaders, including DCP’s Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa, Jubilee’s Fred Matiang’i, DP’s Justin Muturi, and PLP’s Martha Karua, have already made their way to the venue in a show of solidarity.
But as Wiper formally declares its intention to challenge President William Ruto, questions persist beyond Kalonzo’s readiness, but about his political mettle in an increasingly tight and competitive political space.
