Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn has identified Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea as the three teams capable of challenging Arsenal for the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal currently sit top of the table ahead of their clash with Burnley on Saturday, having finished second behind Liverpool last season.
Speaking to newsmen, Winterburn dismissed suggestions that the title race is already over, stressing that the real challenge begins after Christmas.
“I think Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea will be the nearest teams to Arsenal,” Winterburn said.
“It’s just incredible that people are talking about the title race being over.
We all know that after Christmas, with injuries and pressure, things can change quickly.”
The Gunners remain unbeaten in the league and are aiming to end their 21-year wait for a Premier League title.
