The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a new radio station, Majority FM 89.5, as part of political mobilisation efforts ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated 2027 re-election campaign.
The radio station is located within the office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and comes amid intensified political activity in the South-South region in support of President Tinubu.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Wike is seen inspecting the newly established broadcast facility, walking through the studio, examining its equipment and interacting with members of staff.

Sources familiar with the project said Majority FM was created as a strategic communication platform for the Renewed Hope movement, a political group widely identified with President Tinubu’s administration and its policy agenda.
Speaking during the commissioning of the station, Wike underscored its intended reach and political purpose, stating: “This will take messages from all over the 666 units of Rivers State. We are ready for this job, we are ready for 2027.”

Political analysts say the establishment of Majority FM further reinforces Wike’s growing influence in Rivers State’s political space and signals an early consolidation of support structures ahead of the 2027 general election.
