Legendary Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has questioned Barcelona’s maturity following their 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Sunday’s tense El Clásico clash at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Speaking to reporters, Wenger described the encounter as a case of “men against boys”, suggesting Madrid showed greater strength and composure throughout the match.
Goals from Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham secured victory for Xabi Alonso’s side, while Fermin López briefly restored hope for Barcelona with an equaliser.
“Xabi Alonso balanced his team well today,” Wenger said.
“Overall, I would say that it was a bit like men against boys in some departments.
The defensive performance of Real Madrid was much stronger than that of Barcelona.”
