Former England captain Wayne Rooney has identified his top three performers in the Premier League this season, highlighting the players he believes have delivered the most consistent impact so far.
Rooney singled out Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, and Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo as the standout performers in the ongoing campaign.
Speaking during an appearance on Amazon Prime, the former Manchester United star praised the trio for their exceptional form and influence on their respective clubs.
“Top three, probably Semenyo, I think he’s been brilliant for Bournemouth, carrying on his form from last season,” Rooney said.
He further commended Mbeumo’s adaptation and influence at Old Trafford, despite Manchester United’s turbulent start to the season.
“I’d also put Bryan Mbeumo in there. I think he’s been really good for Manchester United, even after a difficult start to the season for the club. I think he’s been really good,” Rooney added.
Rooney rounded off his list with Gyokeres, who has continued to impress at Arsenal following his arrival.
“The third one, I’d probably go with Gyokeres,” he concluded.
With Premier League action resuming this weekend, Rooney’s selections highlight the emerging stars influencing the title race and shaping the narrative of the 2025 season.
