Warri Wolves recorded a shock 2–1 victory over Enyimba on Sunday in an NPFL encounter at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.
The Aba-based side missed several scoring chances to the frustration of their home fans. Warri Wolves took the lead in the 17th minute, but Enyimba responded 10 minutes later through Edidiong Ezikiel, who levelled the score at 1–1.
However, the visitors restored their lead in the 66th minute and held firm until the final whistle to secure all three points.
The defeat marked Enyimba’s third straight game without a win, following two previous results — a 0–0 draw against Rivers United and a 1–0 loss to Kun Khalifat in Owerri.
Reacting after the match, disappointed Enyimba supporters, including Igwe Sabastine, Mike Uzoma, and Chinyere Nduka, blamed the team’s poor finishing in front of goal for their recent struggles.
Meanwhile, in another NPFL fixture, Abia Warriors suffered a 2–0 defeat to Shooting Stars in Ibadan.
