Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has heaped praise on his teammate Nuno Mendes, describing the Portuguese defender as the best left-back in world football.
Speaking ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, Vitinha — who also shares the pitch with Mendes at the Portugal national team — expressed strong admiration for the 23-year-old’s talent and consistency.
“For me, Nuno Mendes is the best left back in the world,” Vitinha said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Mendes has been one of PSG’s standout performers since joining the French champions from Sporting CP in 2022. His performances last season were instrumental in helping Luis Enrique’s side secure a historic quadruple — winning the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, UEFA Super Cup, and the French Cup.
So far this season, Mendes has continued to impress, registering four goals and three assists across all competitions for the Parisians.
