Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has reaffirmed his commitment to international duty as Nigeria prepares for Thursday’s World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.
Osimhen addressed reporters moments after Galatasaray’s 1–0 loss to Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday. Dan Agyei’s decisive goal at the Kocaeli Stadium handed the hosts all three points, leaving Galatasaray frustrated on the night.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen stated that his focus had already moved away from the club’s defeat and toward representing Nigeria in the crucial qualifier.
“I have to travel. The game has happened, it has happened,” Osimhen said.
“I have moved on from that. Now I focus on my national team.”
Nigeria will host Gabon on Thursday, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Nigerian time, as the Super Eagles continue their push for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
