Galatasaray superstar Victor Osimhen has urged club officials to secure the signing of Trabzonspor’s rising Ivorian midfielder, Christ Inao Oulai. The Nigerian striker reportedly identified Oulai as a priority target after witnessing his standout performances for the Ivory Coast during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Renowned Galatasaray insider Burhan Can Terzi broke the news on the Sportcell YouTube channel, confirming that Osimhen provided a glowing endorsement of the 19-year-old’s capabilities to the team’s technical department.
Current negotiations reveal a significant valuation gap between the two Turkish giants as the winter transfer window progresses. While Trabzonspor remains open to discussions, they have set a high asking price for their teenage talent, with some reports suggesting they rejected an initial package worth €20 million plus striker Ahmed Kutucu. Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has reportedly established a strict spending limit of €20 million for the midfielder, despite rival interest from major European clubs like PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United.
Oulai, often compared to legendary compatriot Yaya Toure, has enjoyed a rapid ascent since joining Trabzonspor from French side Bastia last summer. His recent displays in Morocco have only increased his market profile, turning the potential transfer into a high-level administrative negotiation between club presidents. Galatasaray views the Ivorian as a vital addition to their midfield core, though they must decide whether to raise their offer to meet Trabzonspor’s steep demands.
Burhan Can Terzi provided further context on the internal discussions at the Rams Park: “Victor Osimhen is impressed with Oulai. He saw him at the Africa Cup of Nations and informed Galatasaray officials that he is a fantastic player. Galatasaray has not gone up to 25-30 million Euros for Oulai. President Dursun Özbek has a limit; Galatasaray’s offer doesn’t exceed 20 million Euros. Trabzonspor isn’t closing the door to offers. I can’t say Oulai is not serious about it. It has been seriously discussed. It’s still being discussed. There are meetings at the presidential level.”
