Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen may miss several club matches if Nigeria advance to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Galatasaray reporter Ali Naci Küçük.
The 2025 AFCON is scheduled to take place from December 21 to January 18, with Osimhen expected to join the Super Eagles camp in the second week of December.
Speaking during an interview, Küçük explained that if Nigeria reach the final, Osimhen will be unavailable for Galatasaray until January 20, missing up to four Süper Lig matches.
“There’s also a possibility he will miss Galatasaray’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid,” Küçük added. “In this scenario, coach Okan Buruk is considering relying on Icardi to fill the gap.”
The development highlights the scheduling challenges for European clubs during AFCON years, with star players potentially sidelined for crucial matches.
